The Neuadd B&B Suites
The Neuadd, with its majestic four hundred year-old oak tree, sits contentedly amongst panoramic views close to the fashionable market town of Crickhowell, cheekily nicknamed ‘Knightsbridge-on-Usk’.
The nearest pub is a 10 minute walk starting in a wild flower meadow, backdropped by Llangattock Mountain with open vistas across the Usk Valley. The perfect base for exploring the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains, The Neuadd comprises a small collection of holiday cottages and ‘Freedom B&B’ suites arranged round a communal courtyard space with an adult oriented and quiet vibe.
Whilst the familiar character of the buildings is retained there is a sense of modernity, privacy and independence here, with key-codes to access your suite and no old-school reception desk. Its easy-going, welcoming and unashamedly laid back. Julia is a Brecon Beacons Ambassador and has personally crafted a very professional holiday planner to help you get the most from your break. It introduces cafes’, pubs and shops and includes carefully curated maps with walks from the door. We loved the fab locally sourced, continental breakfast supplies, including organic apple juice with a royal connection, it’s Prince Charles’ favourite morning tipple; all of which are left in your room so you can have breakfast when you fancy.
There’s mountain, canal and riverside walking from the door. As keen cyclists and walkers Peter & Julia can recommend mountain biking routes, picnic spots and some excellent “quiet lanes” cycling. Hire bikes can be booked in advance. There’s great wi-fi, but we suggest you switch off the outside world and lose yourself in the mountains.
