Bryn Berwyn Country House
Bryn Berwyn has been in the family for years, but the latest generation of custodians, the ever present and untiring Henrietta and Will, have breathed new life into this grand old Victorian lady.
The makeover personifies contemporary Welsh hospitality. On-trend colour palettes, flooded with that uniquely seaside light, oozing with genuine warmth and welcome, against a backdrop of impeccable local sourcing and yet provided without unnecessary airs and graces. Formality can be left at the door, but expect care, professionalism, and top quality throughout, all delivered quietly and without fuss.
The seven lovely rooms have everything you need, and nothing you don’t. Monsoon showers, calming interiors, the best bed linen, dreamy Cardigan Bay sea views and even a doggie welcome pack for your four-legged travel companion. They’re simply stylish. The bay fronted family rooms have the addition of two single beds, ideal for a reasonable out of season half term break, and the zip and linked king size bed in Room 5 works equally well for two friends.
There’s a bright comfy drawing room complete with board games, a stripped back but carefully stocked bar area, and the breakfast room has direct access to the garden. You can even stay in for a generous supper from a punchy but well sourced light dinner menu if you don’t fancy the short potter to the famous pub on the beach.
If you really must check in with the office Bryn Berwyn is blessed with ultra-fast fibre Wi-Fi, and mobile signal is strong. But we suggest you pretend it isn’t. Cardigan bay has one of the largest resident pods of Dolphins in the world, so time spent spotting them from the Tresaith sand is time well-spent. We love the spectacular waterfall where the river Saith meets Cardigan Bay at the north end of the beach.
Kick back, relax and enjoy beautiful west Wales in style.
