Portclew is a perfect base from which to explore the spectacular southern shores of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. This luxury country guest house, just half a mile from the sea, has quality written all over it.
Sarah and Stephen Jackson have completely refurbished this Grade II-listed house from top to bottom. There’s a grand feel to the accommodation, and many echoes of Portclew’s Georgian ancestry in its sizeable, well-proportioned rooms. The immaculate bathrooms - a match for many a top country house hotel - are another noteworthy feature.
Guests have the best of Pembrokeshire right on their doorstep - the coastal path, the sheltered beach at Freshwater East, Barafundle Bay, Stackpole Quay, Broad Haven and St Govan’s Head. Pembroke Castle is a short drive away along with the graceful ruins of Lamphey Bishop’s Palace and the castle, Celtic cross and tidal mill at Carew.
