THE CHECKERS JOINS THE MICHELIN ELITE

GLP member The Checkers in Montgomery has joined the elite band of Michelin-starred restaurants in Wales. Chef proprietor at The Checkers Stéphane Borie is particularly delighted by the news since the business only opened in March 2011.

The total number of establishments in Wales awarded a star in this year's Michelin Guide remains at four after Ynyshir Hall was dropped. The other three are the Walnut Tree, Abergavenny and Welsh Rarebits members The Crown at Whitebrook and Tyddyn Llan.
