Question : when does a coach house become a contemporary townhouse? Answer : when Marc Hopkins and Tony Davies come along and reinvent a place that turns on today’s travellers.

The welcome here is as big as the Brecon Beacons, the mountain range on the doorstep. Marc and Tony are wonderful hosts ("We always go that extra mile to make our guests feel at home"). They are also a font of local knowledge on the best places to visit, walk, cycle or ride.

It’s part of the Coach House’s strong ‘Sense of Place’, which runs from photographs and maps of the Beacons on the walls to the Welsh delicacy breakfasts.

Their small restaurant also serves inventive evening meals. Everything in the Coach House has been well thought out. The bedrooms are uncluttered and well equipped (WiFi included).
